Terms of Service
Effective date: July 16, 2026
Welcome to Lodera. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Lodera (“Lodera,” “we,” “us”) and govern your use of the Lodera website and service at lodera.ai (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Lodera is
Lodera is an adaptive math practice tool: a question bank that selects multiple-choice problems for you, adjusts difficulty based on your answers, and tracks an estimate of your mastery by skill. Courses currently offered include AP Calculus AB and Precalculus, with more (such as SAT Math and AP Calculus BC) planned. We may add, change, or remove courses, questions, and features at any time as the Service evolves.
Lodera is a study aid. Mastery scores are statistical estimates, not guarantees. We do not promise any particular grade, exam score, or academic outcome.
2. Who may use Lodera
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts.
- If you are between 13 and 17, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
- If you are a parent or guardian purchasing a subscription for your child, you accept these Terms — including the billing terms in Section 4 — as the account’s paying party.
3. Your account
You register with an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. An account is for one person; do not share it or let others practice under your login. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at support@lodera.ai.
4. Plans, billing, and trials
- Free plan. The free plan includes up to 10 questions per day. No payment card is required.
- Unlimited plan. The paid plan costs $5.99 per month and removes the daily question cap. Payment is processed by Stripe through a Stripe-hosted checkout page — Lodera never sees or stores your card number.
- Free trial. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial. When the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically and your card is charged, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the billing section of your in-app settings (which opens the Stripe customer portal). After cancelling, you keep paid access through the end of the period you already paid for (or the end of the trial), and you will not be charged again.
- Coupons. We may offer coupon or promotion codes. Codes may have their own conditions, can expire, and may be withdrawn or modified.
- Price changes. We may change subscription pricing. Price changes will be communicated in advance and apply from your next billing cycle — never retroactively.
5. Refunds
Payments are generally non-refundable, and refunds are not guaranteed. The 7-day free trial exists so you can evaluate the Service before paying. If something went wrong — for example a duplicate charge, or you intended to cancel before renewal — email support@lodera.ai and we will review your situation in good faith. If we terminate your account without cause, or discontinue the Service, while you have paid time remaining, we will refund the unused portion.
6. Acceptable use
The question bank — the questions, answer choices, hints, and worked solutions — is the product. Your subscription is a personal license to practice, not a license to copy the bank. You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or systematically collect questions, solutions, hints, or any other content from the Service;
- republish, redistribute, share, sell, or otherwise make Service content available to others, in any form, including in question banks, worksheets, apps, or datasets (including datasets for training machine-learning models);
- access the Service with bots, scripts, or other automated means, or circumvent rate limits, the free plan’s daily question cap, or any paywall;
- share accounts or resell access;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or data underlying the Service;
- interfere with the Service’s operation or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data.
The Service is for personal, non-commercial study. If you are a teacher or organization interested in classroom use, contact us at support@lodera.ai.
7. Our content and intellectual property
All content and technology in the Service — questions, solutions, hints, the adaptive engine, software, design, and branding — is owned by Lodera or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own studying while these Terms are in effect. If you send us feedback or report a content issue, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation.
AP® is a registered trademark of the College Board. SAT® is a registered trademark of the College Board. The College Board is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, Lodera.
8. Your data and account deletion
How we collect and handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account at any time from the in-app settings; deletion cancels any active subscription first and then removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms — especially the acceptable-use rules in Section 6 — or if required for legal or security reasons. On termination, your license to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5, 7, 10, 11, and 13) survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We work hard on accuracy — answers are machine-verified where possible — but we do not warrant that content is error-free or that the Service will be uninterrupted. If you find a wrong or confusing question, please use the in-app report button.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lodera will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $10 if you have paid nothing). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give notice — for example by email or an in-app notice — before it takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [California, USA — placeholder, confirm before launch], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, and you and Lodera consent to their jurisdiction.
